What is it, and why do I need it?
The DN9344 Helix Software Version 4.03 host code is the control programme that runs inside the DN9344 equaliser – not the Helix DN9344E (Ethernet) Quad EQ unit. This release upgrades version 4.01. We recommend that all users upgrade to this version.

Version 4.03 contains the following new or updated features over V3.xx host code:

Protocol version 4 support – allows operation with DN9340, DN9340E, DN9344 and DN9344E and DN9848E units on the same communications network.

Support for the new Helix EQ RCS V4.02 Remote Control Software

Increased speed of operation when used with the new RapidE remote motorised fader unit .

AutoGain calculation possible when controlled by a RapidE.

Fixes to certain Global Store memory and STS operations.

Fixes to communication issues when certain PEW parameters are set.

Fixes when used with Elgar in mixed 9848/9340 systems.

Details of setting up a Helix Master/Slave remote control system are contained in the Helix System User Manual. To use the Helix system with PC Remote Control Software, refer to the Helix EQ RCS User Manual.

The major version number of 4 indicates that it interoperates at a communications level with all other Klark Teknik products running version 4.xx – this includes DN9340, DN9344, DN9340E, DN9344E, DN9848, DN9848E, other Elgar Add-Ins and so on. Note that it is possible to run products with version 3.xx and 4.xx side-by-side, but they must have separate physical communication paths, and the version of the Host Code and Add-In must have the same protocol. See the user manual for more details.

Follow the link at the bottom of this page to download the latest version of the software.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
If you are upgrading from version 2.03 host code or earlier, you must run a Memory Extractor utility program before upgrading the unit. Failure to do this will result in the loss of all memory information. Please contact Klark Teknik support to learn how to proceed. Upgrading from version 3.xx to version 4.xx requires that you save your memories within the Klark Teknik Helix EQ RCS Elgar Add-In – refer to the DN9340/44 Memory Extractor page for information.

If you are upgrading from version 3.xx host code or earlier, you must use version 3.xx of the Helix DN9340 Remote Control Software to copy memories to your PC and save them as an Elgar file before upgrading the units. You can then send the Elgar file contents to your units using version 4.00 of the Helix DN9340RCS, and they will be automatically converted. Note also that to make this easier you can have both version 3.xx and version 4.xx of the Helix DN9340RCS Add-In installed in Elgar at the same time

What do I need to do it, and how do I go about doing it?
