What is it, and why do I need it?

The DN9340/44 Helix Equaliser Memory Extractor Version 3.00 is the programme that allows you to download and save the memories inside the DN9340/44 equaliser to a file on your computer, and upload the memories from a file to the equaliser.

This release allows you to save and restore the unit memories when upgrading the unit from host code version 2.xx to 3.xx. Note that due to increased control options in later software, the channel link status will not be preserved when upgrading from version 2.08 or earlier units – parameters are of course copied correct

Procedure:

Save and Restore Memories when upgrading Host Code:
1. Run the “DN9340 memory update.exe” program. The installer will have placed an icon for this on your desktop, and there will be a shortcut on your Start menu - alternatively the program can be found in the following directory:
C:\Program Files\Klark Teknik Group\KTG Program Manager\Host Software\DN9340\3.0

2. Power up the DN9340/44 unit and set the unit into 'Remote Control Mode' with channel address set to 1.

3. Connect the serial communications cable (supplied with the DN9340) between the unit and the COM1 port on your PC.

4. Press the 'Read memory from unit ' button. Progress bars will be displayed and filled corresponding to the memory extracted. By default, the filename is “”; this may be changed if required.

5. When the 'Time to Read' text changes to 'Complete' the extraction of the unit's memories is complete. Quit from the program by pressing the “Exit” button.

6. Use the “Klark Teknik Group Program Manager” program to upgrade the unit to V3.xx, according to the instructions supplied with the KTGPM.

7. Again run the 'DN9340 memory update.exe' program and set the unit to Remote Mode with channel set to 1.

8. Press the 'Write memory to unit' button. Progress bars will be displayed and filled corresponding to the memory transmitted.

9. When the 'Time to Write' text changes to 'Complete' the process of upgrading the unit is finished.

NOTE: It is possible to save and restore from multiple units – enter the total number of units in the appropriate field before performing step 4 and 8. All units must have sequential addresses (starting from 1) to use this function.

Archiving existing User, System and Preset Memories:

1. Run the “DN9340 Memory Update” program.

2. Enter the desired location and name of the file you want to write to in the “Filename” window (or select an existing file to overwrite from the “File->Open” menu option).

3. Read the unit’s memories from the unit(s) using the “Read memory from unit” key.

The memories are stored to the file for archiving.

Recalling a previously archived file:

1. Run the “DN9340 Memory Update” program.

2. Select the “File->Open” option, and navigate through the “Filename” window to the desired location of the previously backed-up file (note: you can also type in the full path and filename in the file window).

3. Select the desired file and click Open.

4. Download the stored memories to the DN9340/44 unit(s) using the “Write memory to unit” key.

The memories stored in the file will be written to the unit.

The minimum specification that the software can be expected to run on is:
DN9340/44 Helix Equaliser;
Windows PC with Windows 98, NT4, 2000 or XP installed;
Klark Teknik Program Manager V2.0 or newer (available on this site);
Cable connection between serial port on the computer and the front port of the DN9340 (this cable is supplied with the unit or is available from your dealer).
