FROM THE PACIFIC TO THE ATLANTIC, BOSCH COMMUNICTIONS SYSTEMS HAS CANADA COVERED

The three independent rep firms that represented Bosch Communications Systems brands Electro-Voice, Midas and Klark Teknik in Canada have joined forces to create one unified national rep firm: PAG Canada, Ltd. The three principals are Mark Kulas (KMT Pro Audio), John McArthur (Lebanna Solutions Inc.) and Gilles Elhadad (Acoustik GE Inc.).

“PAG means Pacific Atlantic Group, because we now consistently cover Canada from the Pacific to the Atlantic,” says President and co-principal Mark Kulas.

“It was funny,” adds John McArthur, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing and second principal in PAG Canada Ltd., “we rep’d the same Bosch Communications Systems brands, but competed with each other in our own old territories. Now we can help each other, focusing on the vertical markets in which each of us has strengths”.

Gilles Elhadad, third principal and Vice-President of Operations, says: “The three of us always got along, and at the 2007 NSCA in Orlando we just threw this crazy idea at Franck Fabry (Director of Americas Export Sales) and Thomas Hansen (VP of Sales) of Bosch Communications Systems. We could see their wheels turning as we presented the vertical market focus for all market segments of the brands.”

“Gilles will oversee Installed Sound projects involving consultants and design build contractors”, adds John McArthur, “Mark will be looking after the Commercial markets with products like NetMax, ProAnnounce and other exciting new products. And I will over see the Live Sound market, including MI”.

“However,” Mark Kulas adds, “the actual reps in the territory don’t change. John still handles Ontario, Gilles does Quebec and Atlantic Canada and I handle the West. And it gets even better, because we have Lou Ianonne in the West and JC Moreau in Atlantic Canada to support the vertical Live Sound markets, and in Pierre Beaupre we’re adding a true veteran to champion the Dynacord line.”

About the PAG Canada Principals:

Mark Kulas has been servicing Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the Canadian Territories for the past 7 years through KMT Pro Audio Group.

Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Kulas has many years of experience in concert, club and theater production. He spent five years as property and project manager responsible for A/V and lighting with Canad Inns/Hospitality Corp before becoming the central Canada representative (Pro Audio) for SF Marketing. While with Telex/EVI and Mark IV Audio, Kulas advanced from regional to national sales management and was responsible for business development based both in Toronto and Winnipeg.

He has worked continuously with the current Bosch Communications Systems pro audio product brands for over 12 years.

John McArthur started his career as a Production Assistant at The Ontario Place Forum, Toronto. He moved on to become Production Director at CJCH in Halifax, CKFM in Toronto (where he won several RBC nominations and awards) and CHUM AM & FM in Toronto where John won the prestigious CLIO Award. He left commercial radio and started a venture on his own.

After selling his successful voice casting business and commercial production company, McArthur accepted a position with William F. White Ltd. in Toronto, to develop audio product sales.

Following several years in that position, John was lured to the wholesale side of the Professional Audio business, where he has resided for 14 years. He has been involved in many different types of installations, from school theatres to major venues, hospitality locations to houses of worship, stadiums and more.

McArthur is the Principal of Lebanna Solutions Inc., a manufacturers’ representation firm based in the Toronto area. John is also the Vice-President, Internal, of the Canadian Institute for Theatre Technology, where he also sits on the Board of Directors and chairs The Member Relations Committee.

Gilles Elhadad, a physicist by trade, specializing in room acoustics, has been managing Acoustik GE Inc. for the past seven years, serving Quebec and Atlantic Canada.

Elhadad brings with him many years of experience in sound system design. His extensive knowledge of the fixed install market allowed Gilles to serve as a special project manager for Burtek Systems.

In 1996 he became a territory manager for Mark IV Audio, which became Telex/EVI Audio and then Telex Communications, Inc., recently purchased by Bosch. Elhadad is based in Montreal, Quebec.
