DN9848 - Upgrading from earlier vesrions to V4.04

1. Download host software from the website (and the “Klark Teknik Group Program
Manager” if you do not already have it installed on your computer). Install the
programs by double-clicking on the icons and following the instructions.

2. Run the “dn9848 memory update.exe” program. The installer will have placed an
icon for this on your desktop - alternatively the program can be found in the
following directory:
C:\Program Files\Klark Teknik Group\KTG Program Manager\Host Software\DN9848\3.0

3. Power up the DN9848 unit and set the unit into 'Remote Control Mode' with
channel address set to 1.

4. Connect the serial communications cable (supplied with the DN9848) between the
unit and the COM1 port on your PC.

5. Press the 'Read memory from unit ' button. Progress bars will be displayed and
filled corresponding to the memory extracted.

6. When the 'Time to Read' text changes to 'Complete' the extraction of the unit's
memories is complete. Quit from the program by pressing the “Exit” button.

7. Use the “Klark Teknik Group Program Manager” program to upgrade the unit to
V4.1, according to the instructions supplied with the KTGPM.

8. Again run the 'dn9848 memory update.exe' program and set the unit to Remote
Mode with channel set to 1.

9. Press the 'Write memory to unit' button. Progress bars will be displayed and filled
corresponding to the memory transmitted.

10. When the 'Time to Write' text changes to 'Complete' the process of upgrading the
unit is finished.

Archiving existing User, System and Preset Memories.
1. Run the “DN9848 Memory Update” program.
2. Select the “File” option. This has to be executed before extracting the memories
from the DN9848 unit.
Two options will now be selected
Backup Ctrl+B
Recall Ctrl+E
3. Select the “Backup” menu.
4. Navigate through the “Filename” window to the desired location of the file.
5. Select the file to write to or type in a new file.
6. Enter or “Open” selects the file.
7. Read the unit’s memories from the unit using the “Read memory from unit” key.

Recalling a previously archived file.
1. Run the “DN9848 Memory Update” program.
2. Select the “File” option.
Two options will now be selected
Backup Ctrl+B
Recall Ctrl+E
3. Select the “Recall” menu.
4. Navigate through the “Filename” window to the desired location of the backed-up
file.
5. Select the desired file.
6. Enter or “Open” selects the file.
7. Download the stored memories to the DN9848 unit using the “Write memory
from unit” key.
