Helix DN9340E (Ethernet) Dual Equaliser Host Code V4.04

What is it, and why do I need it?
The Helix DN9340E Software Version 4.04 host code is the control program that runs inside the DN9340E equalizer – not the older DN9340 Helix (non Ethernet) master units. This release is an update to Version 4.03.

Version 4.04 contains the following new or updated features over V4.03 host code:

New features in V4.04:

  • Multi Master support for E-units
  • You may now use a DN9340E unit in master mode along with DN9344E slaves at the same time as controlling the system from a Rapide; please see the Multi Master Quick Start Guide for instructions on the use of this mode.
  • Support for improved ME-light behaviour (Channel Active LED on Front Panel)
  • Helix units now support improved ME-light operation when using a RapidE in Group or Global mode, enabling the ME-light to be lit on every unit currently under control of the RapidE’s faders.
  • DN27 EQ type renamed to DN370
  • Fixes problems with controlling Q and filter type from RapidE
  • Fixes global and local store/recall reliability issues
  • Fixes AutoGain level issues
  • Fixes click when using digital input and bypass pressed
  • Fixes problems with digital input on DN9344 units

The previous software V4.03 contained the following features over V3.xx host code:

  • Ethernet connectivity support
  • 96 kHz-compatible AES/EBU digital inputs and outputs
  • Protocol version 4 support – allows operation with DN9340, DN9340E, DN9344 and DN9344E and DN9848E units on the same communications network
  • Support for the new Helix EQ RCS V4.02 Remote Control Software
  • Increased speed of operation when used with the new RapidE remote motorised fader unit
  • AutoGain calculation possible when controlled by a RapidE
  • Fixes to certain Global Store memory and STS operations
  • Fixes to communication issues when certain PEW parameters are set.
  • Fixes when used with Elgar in mixed DN9848/DN9340 systems

We also strongly recommend that you upgrade an internal component of the DN9340E called an XPort to Version 2.00. Software to upgrade this component is available from this link. It does not matter whether you perform the XPort upgrade before or after the main software upgrade.

Details of setting up a Helix DN9340E Dual/ DN9344E Quad remote control system are contained in the Helix System User Manual. To use the Helix system with PC Remote Control Software, refer to the Helix EQ RCS User Manual.

The major version number of 4 indicates that it interoperates at a communications level with all other Klark Teknik products running version 4.xx – this includes DN9340, DN9344, DN9340E, DN9344E, DN9848, DN9848E and other Elgar Add-Ins and so on. Note that it is possible to run products with version 3.xx and 4.xx side-by-side, but they must have separate physical communication paths, and the version of the Host Code and Add-In must have the same protocol. See the user manual for more details.

Follow the link at the bottom of this page to download the latest version of the software.
